Health and Safety Training

All HCR personnel are committed to a strong health and safety culture that encourages personal responsibility to ensure work is planned and conducted in a safe manner not just for our employees, but for our clients as well as the public at large. HCR believes that all injuries and illnesses are preventable through cooperation with our employees, clients and contractors. Our goal is to prevent the occurrence of all work related injuries and illnesses.

To achieve this goal, HCR has adopted “superior health and safety performance” as a core value, and employs a dedicated, professionally-trained Health and Safety Team to manage, administer, enforce, and provide training for our Health and Safety Program at HCR. In addition, all field and management employees are provided Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations for Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) initial 40‐hour and annual 8‐hour refresher training. HCR has a zero tolerance drug and alcohol policy with a random screening program and maintains a certified Drug Free Workplace.

Our Company Policy

Our goal is to send all employees home at the end of each workday in the same condition in which they came to work that day. The health and safety of our employees is absolutely essential to the success of our company. HCR expects full compliance with internal and external health and safety standards from all levels of employees within the organization. Every HCR employee is authorized to exercise the Stop Work Authority, and this Stop Work Authority is fully supported by all HCR management teams.

Accident prevention is addressed through well-developed planning which includes proper training, work site planning, health and safety plans and policy and procedure compliance. Employees are required to report all unsafe acts, conditions, near misses and incidents to supervisors immediately. All health and safety concerns are investigated and corrected as soon as possible. Contractor commitment to health and safety is required to ensure that our employees stay safe on our job sites. HCR management endorses these beliefs and principles and demonstrates our commitment to Health and Safety through actions that create and maintain a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Loss Prevention System

HCR actively utilizes a behavioral‐based Health & Safety program licensed from Loss Prevention Systems, Inc. (LPS). This behavior based safety program is designed to prevent or reduce incidents that are defined either as a loss or near loss. LPS training, required for all HCR personnel and subcontractors, “provides direction and requires senior management support from the top down, while solving problems from the bottom up.” In addition, LPS training teaches workers to seek, recognize, correct and report hazardous conditions before an incident occurs.
